Welcome to Paul Kim Photography!

Hello, and welcome to the home of Paul Kim Photography.  I am a lifestyle documentary photographer based out of the DC metro area and available for commissioned assignments stateside or abroad.

As for my approach, I look to merge the individual with their environmental elements such that an accurate portrayal of the individual may be captured.  I believe that using God-given natural light is glorious and uncomparable. And with all said elements in place, my ultimate purpose is to engage the person with the camera, and to re-engage them later through their inspiring photographs.  I have been a witness to much and these photographs are my testament to moments of love, triumph, individualism, and the beginnings of stories that never end.

Take some time to explore the blogsite, view the moments seen through my vantage point, and marinate in the stories of the people I photograph.  And as you're here perusing, don't be a stranger and feel free to leave your thoughts via those comment boxes below. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!

Hyon Smith Seminar

Location :: Hyon Smith Studio, Fairfax, VA
Date(s) :: July 14-15, 2008

Just finished helping out my good friend Hyon Smith with his 2-day seminar. We brought out a couple models, Pamela and Trish, for a mock bridal session and had about 15 photogs go at it. It was great hanging out with my friends (and also very talented photogs) Jennifer Pak and Peter Bang again.
