Due to the comments regarding the first image displayed below, here’s a quick explanation of why it was included.
As a documentary photographer, I see a wedding day as a story filled with main plots and supported/complemented by subplots. In the present story, I arrived at Geena’s home for her preparation shots the morning of her wedding. And in the midst of all the foot traffic in and out of the house, bridesmaids getting dressed, and Geena looking glorious, her dad (pictured below) began to mow the lawn and tend to the landscape. So I found it quite peculiar that in all the busyness of the day, Geena’s father took to the greens. Perhaps it was another Saturday morning for him and the day the blades of grass needed a trim. Or perhaps this is what a father of a bride does to take his mind off and relax.
It may not be the page turner or cliffhanger you were looking for, but it’s a piece of the story which fleshes out the character of a signifiant player in any marriage… the Father of the Bride.
