Welcome to Paul Kim Photography!

Hello, and welcome to the home of Paul Kim Photography.  I am a lifestyle documentary photographer based out of the DC metro area and available for commissioned assignments stateside or abroad.

As for my approach, I look to merge the individual with their environmental elements such that an accurate portrayal of the individual may be captured.  I believe that using God-given natural light is glorious and uncomparable. And with all said elements in place, my ultimate purpose is to engage the person with the camera, and to re-engage them later through their inspiring photographs.  I have been a witness to much and these photographs are my testament to moments of love, triumph, individualism, and the beginnings of stories that never end.

Take some time to explore the blogsite, view the moments seen through my vantage point, and marinate in the stories of the people I photograph.  And as you're here perusing, don't be a stranger and feel free to leave your thoughts via those comment boxes below. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!

Perhaps we are not young...

Noelle + Family

I swung by to meet up with some great friends + clients of mine for their annual family portrait session. We strolled over to Noelle’s favorite spot at her park to grab some images before the early sunset. If you dig Noelle’s latest threads, you can pick up her style at J.Crew...

A Fall Portrait

I caught up with my good friends Carrson, Hayong, and their kiddos for a portrait session at one of their favorite spots in Great Falls.  It was a glorious afternoon to scramble over some boulders with Carter, talk about the latest nicknames with Carris, and just watch Hallis be adorable.  Simply put, a great time...
